Russian Company Develops Innovative Telescopic Jet Bridge for Airports

The holding company «High-Precision Complexes,» which is part of the state corporation «Rostech,» has developed the first Russian passenger boarding bridge for airports. This boarding bridge is equipped with specialized drives, as well as control and safety systems, allowing it to adjust its height, length, and configuration upon alignment with the aircraft.

The boarding bridge was produced by the Central Research Institute of Automation and Hydraulics (TsNIIGAV), which is part of the «High-Precision Complexes» holding, in collaboration with JSC «NPP ‘Proekt-tekhnika’.» As of the time of this writing, a prototype of the passenger bridge is undergoing extensive testing. Previously, such equipment was solely imported from abroad.

The boarding bridge features unique electromechanical and electrohydraulic drives, along with a control and safety system that enables it to alter its height, length, and configuration when docking with an aircraft. This design ensures compatibility with all types of aircraft, ranging from regional jets to long-haul airliners. The product is characterized by high reliability and meets the most stringent safety standards required for passenger boarding bridges.

This development was initiated by TsNIIGAV. Additionally, the organization intends to modernize imported boarding bridges, including the production of spare parts and components related to the most complex systems, such as electrohydraulics, electromechanics, and control systems. With these upgrades, foreign bridges will be able to receive service from the institute’s specialists.
