Эксперт Fidelity предсказывает затяжное падение биткоина, несмотря на бычьи перспективы Headline: Fidelity Expert Predicts Prolonged Bitcoin Downturn Despite Bullish Outlook

The historical four-year Bitcoin cycle has come to a close, and thus, the cryptocurrency is anticipated to experience a prolonged decline in the next year. This perspective was shared by Yurriën Timmer, the Director of Global Macro Research at Fidelity.

Despite this outlook, he emphasized that he still maintains a bullish view on the future of the leading cryptocurrency.

According to the expert, Bitcoin reaching a historical peak above $126,000 in October may have signified the peak of the current cycle «both in terms of price and time.»

*»Bitcoin may have indeed completed another four-year phase of its cycle following the halving. Crypto winters typically last around a year, so I believe that 2026 will be a ‘year of rest’,»* he stated.

Timmer noted that the support for the asset lies in the range of $65,000 to $75,000.

His conclusions contradict the already established consensus within the industry regarding the «death» of Bitcoin’s four-year cycles. A number of experts believe that this theory is outdated due to the influx of institutional investors into the market.

Companies Bitwise and Grayscale, in their forecasts for the coming year, indicated that they expect new price records for the cryptocurrency. Analysts attribute this potential to:

Tom Shaughnessy, co-founder of Delphi Digital, is also confident in a rally for digital gold in 2026.

*»We are still experiencing catastrophic liquidations from October 10 that disrupted the market. Once this is behind us, we will reach new historical highs,»* he remarked.

The expert believes that the dynamics of the crypto market will be influenced by «fundamental progress» within the industry, including the growing acceptance by Wall Street firms and positive regulatory changes.

However, investor sentiment remains pessimistic. Derivatives proponents have hedged against the risks of Bitcoin falling below $85,000.

It is worth noting that experts from the Checkonchain platform and analyst MorenoDV have warned about the absence of a «final capitulation» for the first cryptocurrency.
