Статуя Сатоши Накамото: Биткойн-легенда поразила Уолл-стрит на НЬСЕ Satoshi Nakamoto Statue: The Bitcoin Legend Astonishes Wall Street at the NYSE

A statue of the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, has been installed at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The artwork was created by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi.

*“It’s such an accomplishment—even in our wildest dreams, we never imagined a statue of Satoshi Nakamoto would stand in this location! The sixth out of 21 statues of Satoshi Nakamoto has found its home at the NYSE,”* she commented.

The installation was organized by Twenty One Capital, whose stock began trading on December 9, and within the first day, their shares experienced a drop of nearly 20%.

Exchange representatives described the statue as “a common ground between emerging systems and established institutions.” This event coincided with the anniversary of the launch of the Bitcoin mailing list, which Nakamoto initiated on December 10, 2008.

Picozzi is the creator of the art project Satoshigallery, launched in 2020. The project’s website states its foundational belief:

*“Images shape culture, culture forms values, and values determine the future.”*

Through visual imagery, Picozzi introduces the audience to the history and philosophy of Bitcoin. Previously, she installed five statues of the first cryptocurrency’s creator in various countries: Switzerland, El Salvador, Japan, Vietnam, and the United States (Miami).

*“The statue aims to convey to the viewer a sense of disappearance—a feeling that the inventor resides between the lines. To this day, Satoshi exists within the lines of Bitcoin’s code, allowing humanity to possess the first decentralized payment system,”* the monument’s description notes.

In 2018, a virtual monument to the creator of Bitcoin appeared in Kyiv. This installation was the first part of a global project to create Augmented Reality Cities under the banner of Satoshi Nakamoto Republic.

In 2021, a statue of Nakamoto was placed in Budapest, Hungary.

Picozzi plans to install 21 sculptures worldwide, a reference to Bitcoin’s capped supply of 21 million coins.

It’s worth noting that in October 2024, HBO announced plans to reveal the identity of Bitcoin’s creator in a film about the developer of the first cryptocurrency. The documentary’s creators named a certain Peter Todd, but he denied the claim.

In February 2025, deBanked editor Sean Murray stated that Jack Dorsey is the person behind Nakamoto’s mask. Murray compiled an impressive list of facts, dates, and coincidences that he argued support his theory.

However, the identity of Bitcoin’s creator remains unknown.

In April 2025, attorney James Murphy filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security demanding the release of information about Nakamoto.
