Падение хешрейта биткоина достигает рекордных значений: влияние зимних бурь и снижение доходов майнеров Bitcoin Hashrate Plummets to Record Lows: Impact of Winter Storms and Declining Miner Revenues

The hashrate of the first cryptocurrency network has dropped to 970 EH/s, marking its lowest point since September 2025. Winter storms in the United States have compelled local miners to disconnect from the network, as explained by Glassnode.

This value has decreased by approximately 12% over the last four months, making this correction the most significant since 2021 when Chinese authorities imposed a ban on cryptocurrency mining.

On January 24, the hashrate (7-day moving average) hit a low of 690 EH/s following the shutdown of the majority of equipment by the mining pool Foundry USA.

Analysts noted that the decline in the metric began even before Bitcoin plummeted from $126,000 to $100,000.

According to experts, mining revenues have sharply fallen amid declining prices and operational disruptions. Daily earnings from cryptocurrency mining decreased from $45 million to an annual low of $28 million in a short span, and have only partially recovered to around $34 million.

This reflects both a reduction in block production and a deterioration in price conditions, according to Glassnode.

Furthermore, the profitability of mining companies has significantly worsened: the profit/loss resilience index has fallen to a minimum not seen since November 2024—currently at 21.

«The situation indicates extremely low returns for mining companies under the current price conditions and mining difficulty, even after multiple downward adjustments,» the researchers added.

It’s worth noting that on January 20, a solo miner successfully mined block #933034 on the Bitcoin network. The reward for this achievement was 3.131 BTC (worth $289,191).
