Основатель Aave инвестирует в лондонский особняк: $30 млн за престижную недвижимость в Ноттинг-Хилле Translation: Aave Founder Invests in London Mansion: $30 Million for Prestigious Property in Notting Hill

The founder of Aave, Stani Kulechov, has purchased a five-story Victorian mansion in the upscale London neighborhood of Notting Hill for £22 million (approximately $30 million). This acquisition is one of the most expensive residential property transactions in the city over the past year, according to Bloomberg.

The agency reports that the businessman finalized the deal in November, with the final price being £2 million lower than the initial expectations of realtors.

Kulechov’s representative declined to provide any comments.

The Aave creator was born in Estonia and raised in Finland. He launched the project in 2017 and currently serves as the CEO of its parent company, Avara. The entrepreneur also oversees the social blockchain Lens Protocol, the stablecoin platform GHO, and the cryptocurrency wallet Family.

Aave maintains its position as the leading decentralized lending protocol in terms of total value locked, which currently stands at $29.8 billion.

By the end of 2025, a conflict arose within the project’s community regarding the return of control over the Aave brand, domain names, and intellectual property to the management of the DAO.

The tension between the development company and ecosystem participants began after a controversial deal. In early December, Aave Labs entered into a partnership with CoW Swap «to improve swap pricing and integrate MEV protection into the protocol interface.»

Subsequently, a delegate known as EzR3aL claimed that fees from the updated swap contracts were now being directed to a private wallet controlled by Aave Labs. This led to the decentralized organization losing a significant portion of its revenue, causing outrage within the community.

Kulechov was also accused of purchasing votes for $10 million to gain control over the protocol. Former Aave Labs CTO Ernesto Boado, listed as the author of the proposal, cited a breach of trust. He stated that the vote on the Snapshot platform was initiated prematurely and without his consent.

Ultimately, the majority of ecosystem participants (55.29%) voted against the initiative. Amid this «civil war,» AAVE lost 19% in value over the course of a week.

It is worth noting that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin criticized modern DAOs and called for their reform.
