The cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has appointed Vugar Usi as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). The executive will be tasked with overseeing the platform’s global expansion and development, as stated in a press release.

Before joining MEXC, Usi held a similar role at Bitget, where he played a significant role in the exchange’s rise from the top 20 to the top 5 in CoinMarketCap’s futures trading rankings. During his tenure, the platform’s user base grew fivefold, reaching 120 million users.

As COO, Usi will be responsible for:

«Vugar’s appointment marks a strategic milestone for MEXC. He brings a unique blend of scaling experience, leadership in transformations, and a deep understanding of regulations,» said Cecilia Hash, MEXC’s Chief Strategy Officer.

Usi mentioned that he has been closely monitoring the platform’s progress for the past four years and perceives MEXC as an «upward global underdog.» He emphasized that the company’s mission-driven approach is paramount to him.

«In my role as COO, I am focused not on incremental improvements, but on fundamentally elevating the standards of what a global exchange tailored for retail users should be. According to the company, MEXC serves over 40 million users across 170 countries.
