Новый модуль Jetson AGX Thor от Nvidia: Мозг для роботов с ценой от $2999 Headline: Nvidias New Jetson AGX Thor Module: Brain for Robots Starting at $2999

Nvidia has introduced a new robotics module, the Jetson AGX Thor, priced at $3499. The company refers to this chip as the «brain of the robot.»

The Jetson AGX Thor is an educational version designed for engineers to gather and test prototypes of androids. Once this stage is completed, the company may order mass-produced Thor T5000 modules to equip industrial robots, with a unit cost of $2999 for orders of 1000 pieces or more.

«We don’t build bots or vehicles. We provide the entire industry with our computational infrastructure and accompanying software,» stated Deepu Talla, Nvidia’s Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI.

The Jetson Thor modules utilize the Blackwell GPU, which is the current generation of chips used in AI microchips.

Nvidia claimed that the Jetson Thor is 7.5 times faster than its predecessor and features 128 GB of memory. This capability enables the execution of generative AI models, including visual ones for interpreting the surroundings, a critical function for humanoid robots.

Among the clients of the American chip manufacturer are companies like Jetson Robotics, Amazon, Meta, and Boston Dynamics.

Nvidia is focusing on robotics as a key area for business growth. In August, the company introduced a set of AI models, libraries, and other infrastructure for developers of androids. A standout product is Cosmos Reason, a vision-language model containing 7 billion parameters and “reasoning” capabilities for physical AI applications and bots.

The company highlighted that the Jetson Thor could also be used in autonomous vehicles, especially those from Chinese manufacturers.

Meanwhile, the startup Robomart has unveiled a new delivery robot, the Robomart RM5. This fully autonomous level four vehicle can carry up to 225 kg and is equipped with 10 individual compartments for storing customer goods. This design allows for batch orders, meaning one robot can handle multiple deliveries at the same time.

Robomart plans to utilize these new robots based on an on-demand transportation business model. Retailers will open their own «showcases» within the Robomart app, similar to UberEats or DoorDash.

A key differentiator is a fixed delivery fee of $3. The company hopes this will attract interest. In the coming months, retailers in Austin, Texas, are expected to join the platform, with the delivery service launching by year’s end.

«Our robots reduce delivery costs by up to 70%. This is a critical difference. If you pay a driver $18 an hour, their labor alone costs you $9–10 per delivery,» noted CEO Ali Ahmed.

It is worth mentioning that in 2026, the Chinese tech company Kaiwa Technology from Guangzhou plans to introduce a humanoid robot with an artificial womb in the abdomen, intended to gestate a fetus for the duration of a 10-month pregnancy and subsequent delivery.
