Новый взгляд на криптоиндустрию: RWA-сегмент обгонит криптовалюты по стоимости, говорит глава Chainlink New Perspective on the Crypto Industry: RWA Segment to Surpass Cryptocurrencies in Value, Says Chainlink CEO

Co-founder of Chainlink Sergey Nazarov stated that the RWA segment will eventually surpass the cryptocurrency market in total value. He believes that the current cycle illustrates the industry’s maturation and its readiness for integration with TradFi.

Nazarov highlighted two key observations regarding the present state of the market.

Firstly, there is a notable absence of significant disruptions in risk management. Unlike the previous cycle, which was marked by the collapse of FTX and a series of creditor bankruptcies, the current system has withstood price declines without major upheaval. The industry’s ability to endure liquidity downturns makes it a more reliable option for institutional capital.

Secondly, the migration of real-world assets to blockchain is accelerating, irrespective of Bitcoin’s price. Nazarov noted that on-chain derivatives markets for traditional commodities (such as silver) are already competing with conventional platforms.

The head of Chainlink identified three trends that will reshape the financial landscape:

Nazarov emphasized the importance of interoperability in this process. Chainlink maintains over 70% of the DeFi market for data provision and collaborates with providers such as S&P and ICE. He pointed out that a crucial aspect of development is the synchronization of processes—coordinating between blockchains, off-chain systems, and AI through the Chainlink Runtime Environment.

«If these trends persist, on-chain RWAs will outpace cryptocurrencies in total value. This will fundamentally alter the essence of our industry. Cryptocurrencies will grow as an asset class, but it will be RWAs that bring the technology into the mainstream,» Nazarov concluded.

For reference, in January, ARK Invest analysts predicted that the market for tokenizing real-world assets could exceed $11 trillion.
