In Malaysia, the Ryt Bank has been launched, marking the first AI-powered bank in the nation. This initiative comes from the YTL Group in collaboration with Sea Limited.

The Ryt Bank application is available in both English and Malay. The project’s cornerstone is a digital assistant built on the domestically developed large-language model ILMU. Ryt AI is capable of understanding natural language and can promptly fulfill user requests.

The AI assistant can read and pay bills, monitor expenditures, and simplify financial concepts for users. The objective is to merge convenience with cultural nuances while ensuring corporate-level security.

Key AI features include:

This financial institution is licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and insured by PIDM. Security features include biometric access, multi-layer encryption, and instant notifications for suspicious transactions.

It is noteworthy that in January 2025, the People’s Bank of China announced a commitment to allocate 1 trillion yuan ($137.5 billion) over five years to financially support AI companies.
