Глава Canary: Биткоин имеет 50% шансы достичь $150 000 к концу 2025 года, но ожидается медвежий рынок в 2026 Canary CEO: Bitcoin Has a 50% Chance of Reaching $150,000 by the End of 2025, But a Bear Market is Expected in 2026

By the end of 2025, the first cryptocurrency is likely to reach a value between $140,000 and $150,000 with a 50% probability, while a bear market is anticipated to follow in 2026. This was stated by Stephen McClurg, the CEO of Canary Capital, in an interview with CNBC.

He attributed the current upsurge to growing demand from ETFs and an expanding base of institutional investors, which includes sovereign funds, pension funds, and corporate treasury bonds.

“These inflows are pushing Bitcoin’s price higher,” he added.

This announcement was made against the backdrop of applications submitted by Canary for launching a series of exchange-traded funds in the U.S. linked to altcoins, notably absent of any Ethereum products.

McClurg himself criticized the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, calling its network outdated:

“I’m not a big fan of Ethereum simply because it’s old technology. There are many other protocols that offer faster, cheaper transactions and are fundamentally more secure.”

The CEO of Canary acknowledged that the blockchain had shown “excellent development over the past five years,” yet it now struggles to compete with other projects like Solana or Sui. According to McClurg’s forecast, Ethereum will decline and will not reach its historical high in this cycle, despite the coin coming close to its record on August 13.

He also proposed a resurgence of Litecoin, likening it to silver in contrast to the «golden» Bitcoin.

In terms of the near future, the CEO warned of seasonal volatility.

“Historically, August has been a poor month for any risk asset, especially cryptocurrencies. September and October tend to be much stronger,” he concluded.

It is worth noting that analyst and founder of MN Trading, Michaël van de Poppe, identified the $121,000 mark as a crucial level for the resumption of growth for the first cryptocurrency.
