«This is not merely a collection of valuable domain names; it represents the architecture of Bitcoin’s online presence. The winner of this auction will gain not just domains but ownership of the language of the digital economy of the first cryptocurrency,» stated Lloyds’ Chief Operating Officer Lee Haymes.

To participate in the auction, a preliminary verification is required. Payments in cryptocurrency are accepted, as the auction house started accepting them back in 2021.

Domains related to digital assets often fetch significant amounts. In April, Lloyds sold the domain XBT.com for $3 million. In 2014, BTC.com went under the hammer for $1 million, while ETH.com was sold for $2 million in 2017. Crypto.com was purchased for $10-12 million in 2018.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that in 2021, the beer brand Budweiser acquired the decentralized domain Beer.eth for 30 ETH.
